O momento aconteceu no sábado (3 de outubro), enquanto Shakira continuava sua enorme turnê mundial ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’, que atualmente a vê se apresentando em residência na capital espanhola.

At the show, Shakira kicked this off as usual with renditions of ‘La fuerte’, Black Eyed Peas’ ‘GIRL LIKE ME’, ‘Las de la intuición / Estoy aquí’ and ‘Empire / Inevitable’, before going into fan favourites including ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ and ‘She Wolf’ later in the set.

During her performance of the hit 1995 song ‘Antología’, however, Shakira mixed things up by bringing out Lipa.

A aparição surpresa aconteceu depois que Lipa interpretou a música de sucesso no último novembro, quando ela se apresentou em Bogotá, Colômbia, e homenageou Shakira ao integrar uma de suas músicas ao setlist.

Shakira then shared in the comment section: “Dua, thank you for coming all the way here especially to sing with me and share your talent and beauty with all of us.

When Lipa covered Shakira’s song in Colombia, it came as part of her ‘Radical Optimism’ tour, where she surprised audiences by covering a song by an artist or band from the country she was playing in.

Other artists she covered on the tour included Ariana Grande in Miami, Aerosmith in Boston, Sinéad O’Connor in Dublin, Daft Punk in Lyon, Lorde in Zealand and more.

Lipa also brought out some huge artists to help cover their songs for the tour. Big names included Billie Joe Armstrong for ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’ in San Francisco, Gwen Stefani for ‘Don’t Speak’ in Los Angeles, Nile Rodgers for ‘Le Freak’ in New York City, Chaka Khan for ‘Ain’t Nobody’ in Chicago, Jamiroquai for ‘Virtual Insanity’ in London, Neil Finn for ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ in Auckland, and Kevin Parker for ‘The Less I Know The Better’ in Sydney.

Quanto à Shakira, sua residência em andamento em Madrid começou em 18 de setembro e vai até 11 de outubro – o que significa que ela terá realizado 12 shows no Estadio Shakira.
