Pixies have shared four unearthed tracks, all written as the band were working on ‘Bossanova’ and ‘Trompe le Monde’.
- Do Nothing’s new album is Chris Bailey’s ultimate act of service: “A song will tell you what it wants to be, and it’s not your place to get in the way of that”.
- Scrib doon! The best Biddy Blas memes of the viral Star Wars character.

The four tracks date back to the period between 1987 and 1991, and have been released on all digital streaming platforms for the first time. They were first made available as two bonus 7” singles in the limited-edition remastered pressings of ‘Bossanova’ and ‘Trompe le Monde’.
Songs include the Steve Albini version of ‘Dig For Fire’, which was recorded in late 1987 during the sessions for ‘Surfer Rosa’. It was ultimately changed and released on ‘Bossanova’ nearly three years later.
Also featured is ‘Punk Loop’ which was recorded in 1991 during the ‘Trompe le Monde’ sessions, labelled as ‘Punk Loop’ MSTR and remained as an unreleased jam, and ‘Brackish Boy’, the song that was originally written with Pixies but ultimately rerecorded by Black Francis and released on his eponymous 1993 debut solo album.
Esta versão inicial foi masterizada a partir da fita original da sessão do álbum e lançada sem pós‑produção.
Finally, the fourth unearthed song is ‘Go Man Go’, a track co-written by Black Francis and Kim Deal during the recording sessions for Pixies’ ‘Bossanova’ and The Breeders’ ‘Last Splash’.
Não conseguiu entrar na lista final de faixas de nenhum dos discos, mas foi tocado algumas vezes ao vivo pelos The Breeders nos anos seguintes.
Pixies have been celebrating their 40th anniversary throughout this year and headed out on a UK and European tour over the summer to mark the milestone. Speaking to NME at Mad Cool Festival earlier this year, guitarist Joey Santiago confirmed that the group were continuing to work on new music.
O álbum de estúdio mais recente deles foi o de 2024, “The Night The Zombies Came”, o primeiro com a baixista Emma Richardson. Em 2027, eles estão prontos para percorrer os Estados Unidos ao lado do Queens Of The Stone Age.
