Olympia London cancels all December shows due to “unforeseen planning issues”

Olympia London has seemingly cancelled all live shows that had been scheduled for this December, including performances from Bloc Party, Interpol and Royal Blood.

The latter band had been due to take to the stage at the 7,000-capacity space in West Kensington on December 3 as part of their 2026 UK headline tour. However, the Brighton duo shared a statement on social media today (Friday October 2) to confirm that the date had been axed.

The message continued: “Despite exploring every option, there are no viable alternative venues in London on December 3rd, and rather than causing further disruption to people’s plans over the Christmas period, all tickets will be refunded in full.

Interpol and Bloc Party’s co-headline concerts at Olympia London on December 4 and 5 are listed as “cancelled” on Ticketmaster, too. The two bands are embarking on a joint UK and European tour next month.

It is unclear whether these performances will be rescheduled and/or moved to another venue, at the time of writing. NME has contacted the groups’ representatives for comment, as well as a spokesperson for Olympia London.

Meanwhile, Jamie T‘s shows at Olympia London on December 11 and 12 have been moved to the larger OVO Arena Wembley on those same days. The musician (real name Jamie Treays) is hitting the road in the UK this winter in support of his upcoming album ‘Ghosts (100 Days of Morning)’.

The Olympia’s official website currently lists forthcoming gigs from Khalid (October 15), Puscifer (November 7), The Damned (November 27) and more as still going ahead.

These are set to take place at the new British Airways ARC, situated above the west exhibition hall.

Royal Blood’s fifth studio record, ‘Dead Company’, is out next month and features the duo’s latest track ‘Swallow The Bomb’.

Speaking to NME about the LP at Reading Festival 2026, frontman Mike Kerr explained: “It’s pretty relentless. The idea was, ‘Can we make a record where it never lets off?’ I commend anyone who can make it to the end, really.

He added: “I think, ultimately, that’s why we’re in a band: playing live. That’s the pay-off for us.”.
