New book, How Music Can Save The World, explores how music can drive social change

Written by author and speaker Shain Shapiro, who has spent the past 20 years working with governments around the world, the book argues that music should be recognised as an essential part of public infrastructure, rather than simply as a form of entertainment.

Shapiro looks beyond its value as entertainment, examining how music can support social connection, wellbeing and economic development, while warning that opportunities for shared musical experiences are becoming increasingly scarce.

The synopsis for the book concludes: “The world has more music than ever; it is also, in the ways that matter, less musical. This book is about why that matters and how we need to use music to address the biggest problems we face.”.
