My Morning Jacket Signs Publishing Deal with Peermusic

The agreement marks the continuation of a 20-plus-year publishing relationship between the band and Peermusic president of U. S. and Canada Jamie Cerreta.

My Morning Jacket has signed a publishing deal with Peermusic, encompassing the band’s releases moving forward. The new agreement also includes solo works from frontman Jim James, including James’ forthcoming project Wowed Out, which arrives via ATO Records on Aug.

The announcement marks the continuation of a decades-long working relationship between the band and Jamie Cerreta, president of U. S. and Canada for Peermusic. The partnership began in 2002 when Cerreta signed My Morning Jacket to Chrysalis.

After his time at Chrysalis, Cerreta served as co-president of Big Deal Music, which eventually became part of Hipgnosis Songs Group. In August 2025, he moved to Peermusic, marking a key hire at the publisher, which has significantly expanded its frontline roster under Cerreta’s leadership, including some of Cerreta’s former clients at Big Deal and Hipgnosis.

James added that he has built “an incredible musical connection and friendship” with Cerreta over the years. “He has always been such a wonderful guide and protector for all of the music I have created over the years, and I am so excited to join him and the rest of the family over at Peermusic,” James said.

Over the last 25 years, My Morning Jacket has become one of the most enduring and beloved independent rock groups of its generation. The five-piece includes James on vocals and guitar, Tom Blankenship on bass, Patrick Hallahan on drums, Carl Broemel on guitar and Bo Koster on keys.

So far, the group has released 12 Billboard 200-ranked albums, including Circuital, which peaked at No. 5 in 2011. In 2025, the band’s album Is produced two No.
